About this place

A bright room on the second floor of a two-storey house in Barrio Universitario, on a quiet street a few blocks from campus. The window faces north, so it gets sun in the afternoon, even in winter.

The room has a 1.5-person bed, a desk and chair, a wardrobe and an electric oil heater. You share the kitchen, the living room and one bathroom with two other exchange students.

A supermarket, a laundromat and buses to downtown are less than 5 minutes away on foot.

  She owns the house: current title certificate from the Concepción property registrar (Conservador de Bienes Raíces), issued in the 30 days before our visit.

  Worth knowing Electric oil heater in the room, tested on the day. There's no central heating: the living room has a paraffin heater.

  Gas water heater. Hot water reached the shower in under a minute.

• Verified: Damp and mould

  Worth knowing No mould on walls or ceilings. The bathroom window mists up after a shower: open it for a few minutes, as in most houses in Concepción in winter.

  All windows open, close and latch. The bedroom window is double-glazed.

  Front door with a deadbolt. The room has its own lock and key.

  Not tested: the router was being replaced on the day of our visit. The owner says it's a 300 Mbps fibre plan.

  1.5-person bed, desk, chair, wardrobe and bedside table, as in the photos.

We don't check noise, the neighbours or how the street feels at night, and nothing that changes after our visit. Your own sealed photos when you move in cover those changes.
